The Cariboo Open Golf Tournament has a rich history. Although it had existed as the Northern Championship since the 1930's, it cemented itself in B.C.'s golf lexicon as "The Cariboo Open" when it moved to the newly constructed 108 Ranch Golf Resort in 1972. The early events were hosted by Block Bros and attracted extremely strong fields due to the big purse on offer. Early champions included PGA TOur player, Dave Barr, and legendary Canadian amateur, Doug Roxburgh. Through the years, the Cariboo Open has maintained a strong sense of camaraderie and tradition. Highlights of the event include skill contests, the Father & Son Competition, and a unique prize table. The event still attracts both pros and amateurs from all across the province. The Cariboo Open would not be possible without the support of local businesses, volunteers, and the broader community. Thanks to their generosity, over $7,500 in prizes are awarded each year, ensuring that the tournament remains an exciting and rewarding experience for all participants. With its deep-rooted history and commitment to excellence, the Cariboo Open remains a must-play event for golf enthusiasts. We invite you to be part of this legacy and create your own unforgettable moments on the course.
